About
CW was founded by Chris and Rachel Guest who are both qualified PE teachers.
Our formula is simple. We combine an experienced coaching team with energy & positivity alongside great facilities, to create an amazing programme adapted for success over 20 years.
‘It’s a journey of personal development for the campers and coaches alike.’
‘It’s a wonderfully supportive and positive environment for all.’
Camp Waterford aims:
- To allow children to experience a broad range of activities through an atmosphere that ensures:
-
- Safety
- Fun
- Learning
- To focus on the development of friendships and core values. Central to this are the values of fairness, resilience, respect and empathy. These principles underpin all our dealings and relationships with the children, parents, staff and the wider community.
- Central to our staff recruitment policy is a commitment to continuous staff training. We are hoping that over the years some of the children who come to our camp may have the opportunity to come back as coaches.
- All staff, children and parents will be treated equally whatever their race, religion, language, culture, gender, health, disability, personality or lifestyle.
- Camp Directors are safeguarding trained and we are committed to promoting the welfare of children and young people. All staff and volunteers are expected to share our commitment, always creating an environment where young people feel safe and can thrive. Staff leading activities are Garda Vetted.
- Bullying is not tolerated under any circumstances at Camp Waterford. If children are victims of bullying or witness it, they are encouraged to speak to their coaches and/or the Camp Directors. If coaches witness bullying they deal with it immediately and report to Camp Directors and parents.
- Insurance – we have public liability and employer’s liability insurance to give you additional peace of mind
- Each camp has at least one first aid qualified coach to deal with bumps and scrapes if they happen from time to time. If a more serious incident or accident occurs, we will contact your immediately.
